We're currently seeking an Executive Director for a pioneering environmental NGO committed to empowering Malta's communities to lead the way in transitioning to sustainability. The organization's global network is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing crucial marine and terrestrial ecosystems while fostering a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.

The Executive Director will spearhead fundraising efforts, engaging both individuals and businesses deeply connected to the island and its natural beauty, cities, coastline, and sea. They will oversee the allocation of financial resources to the most impactful projects and campaigns aimed at conserving and enhancing the region's natural environment.

The daily responsibilities of the Executive Director will revolve around grant-making, fundraising activities, and overall organizational management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify projects aligning with local environmental priorities and fund strategy, guiding them through grant applications and overseeing selection by the steering committee.
  • Conduct regular mapping, outreach, and relationship building with local NGOs and key stakeholders.
  • Enhance awareness and trust in the Foundation's mission and activities through brand development, communication efforts, partnership building, and local networking.
  • Take charge of grant making, fundraising initiatives, communication strategies, and financial operations of the Foundation.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate proactive, highly organized, entrepreneurial qualities.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of local key stakeholders and the national NGO environment.
  • Fluent in both Maltese and English, residing in Malta with a valid driver's license, and a minimum of three years' experience in the conservation sector.
